B For Bangkok! (Beeennngggkkkkoookk!!)

The unplanned trip has happened.

And this, a super late post.

Bangkok is one of the cities Jay and I have been planning to go to. The planned Bkk trip on June has happened a bit earlier. We initially planned to take the train from Singapore but then again we thought of comfort. (Just a trivia- there's no such thing as taking the train from SG to BKK; you need to take trains from different stations and there's no train that goes directly to BKK). We were eyeing for a real vacation (which spells r-e-l-a-x-a-t-i-o-n). We have not been going out together due to conflict in work schedule, but this, truly was a wish come true.

We arrived in BKK at past 19:00 (Bkk time).

Charles was waiting for us in the airport with his friend who assisted us to find a good place to stay. Our first night was spent at S.D. Avenue Hotel which is at the downtown. The place? Not bad, except that we were expecting that people in the hotel could speak English well. It was pretty hard to communicate with them :( (to think that they are in the service industry). Price wise, for a night it was a bit pricey. We had dinner at a store beside the hotel. Food was superb! (sorry for not taking photos of what we had). Oh well, I don't think I can take photos with an empty stomach! Haha.

The morning after, we were up really early to maximize our stay in Bangkok. After having breakfast at McDonalds, we headed back to the hotel and tried to look for another place to stay.

Good morning!! =)

There we found Baan Rangnam. Service wise, it was all good! The staff were all very nice and friendly. And the place was very clean and spacious! It was a like a one-bedroom apartment - fully furnished! Price? $1800 baht for a night. Not bad ey!

Happy that we found a new place to stay! Haha

Walking/food/shopping on my next post! =)

Health Is Wealth = Fitness Is First

Yeeeeesssss. You read it right. Hahaha.

Despite the fact that I only want to splurge on makeup, clothes, shoes, bags (oh the list goes on!), I still thought that there should be something more deserving of my attention - my health!

Seriously, I never thought that a proper exercise can make a big difference in my body/health. My big problem is - I hardly perspire. It was not a problem at all until everyone that I have spoken to told me that it is very unhealthy.

My greatest confession is, I eat rice every meal (not just a cup,but two), I love sweets of all sorts, I am too lazy to workout or run, and I hardly sweat. I thought I was just one lucky girl who looks fresh all day; but my main dilema is - I tend to get sick very easily. Change of weather will definitely cause me to have fever and flu. My resistance is very low that I tend to get sick almost every month. Plus my allergic rhinitis never leaves my side.

Jay has been encouraging me to run. He even bought me an all-Nike outfit just to motivate me. I run, and after few hundred meters, I stop and pretend that I need to tie my shoelace. And that's the end of it. I am just going to wait for him at the next bus stop.

One day, I was having a good talk with my friend Glenda, and both of us agreed that we were going to have a one-day trial at Fitness First. And so we did. And we signed up. We have been working out, attending classes, and keeping our diet healthy (like the real healthy way and not just the you-look-skinny-and-that's-it kind of way). But oh I can't resist chocolates! But at least my water intake and fruits have been satisfying my needs.

It's a bit pricey ($142 a month), but ey, the changes it had made are incredibly significant. No more sneezing in the morning and after every nap! I love how energy fills me each morning. And I love that my sleeping habit is a lot better! And I easily perspire now (it makes me feel a lot more normal, honestly).

As part of my active lifestyle, Jay and I promised each other that we are going to play badminton regularly. Aaaaanndd, we are going to play bowling tooooo. Aaaaannnddd I am going to run with him (Safra is holding a run on September and I am going to sign up for 10km- whoa!).

I am now a self-confessed sportsminded individual, everyone can make a change by starting to think that health is wealth. If people will ask me what my motivation is, err, it's as simple as this - I want to have a body like Anne Curtis and I want to wear my swimsuit without telling my self, "stomach in,chest out". Hahaha. But on a serious note, I really want to have a healthy lifestyle.

Well, even hot celebrities take a hard work keeping their body in shape. I too, is taking a stand in improving my health and keeping my body in shape. =)

 Health is wealth and.....

Oh! And just sharing how awesome last weekend was! Jay, Glenda and Josh were 14km trail run finishers!  Uh, I did not run.  Haha but I was like a patient mom waiting for my kids to finish a race! Hahaha.

Makeup For Tin

Tin is getting married on December and I am very fortunate that she chose me to be her HMUA on her big day. She had her trial hair and makeup last month, followed by prenup photoshoot.

Here's what I came up with during the trial.

Tin has made a very flattering comment on how I applied makeup on her face.  She also said that the makeup feels very light, and she could not even feel that she was wearing any makeup at all.  Hmmm.  Thanks Tin!

And for the prenup, I opted to give her 2 looks. Here's the thing, the choice on makeup color and application give different impact on the choice of clothes. It is more often misunderstood that the color of the dress should be the color of your eyeshadow. It is definitely a NO-NO! There are certain makeup application that compliments certain colors of one's outfit. Tin's first look was fresh, day makeup that went well with her flowy skirt and simple shirt.  The official photos are not out yet, I am just sharing photos from my android phone =)

For her second look, I thought of something in contrast with her dress and accessories. Vampire red lips it is! =D Sooo happy that even the photographer liked it, because the color popped in her shots!

I am already excited for Tin's big day.  Time flies so fast!  Thanks Tin for this wonderful opportunity!  Love you! Mwah!

Rrraaawwwrrr

Does this mean that I love my alma mater so much? Hehe.

Thanks Ny for my love-your-alma-mater-shoes! I love you to the bones!

Robbed By Bobbi Brown =)

Looking at my last post, I felt totally disappointed. I missed my blog. There are too many stuff going on lately (but it should never be an excuse) and that caused my lazy buddy to attack and kill my writing/sharing habit.

I have purchased so many stuff for the past weeks and this post should be the start of sharing. Let me start with Bobbi. I was robbed by Bobbi, his last name is Brown. But I gave in,without any hesitation. Haha!

Here's a confession of a shopaholic (makeupholic if there's such thing) - when you spend $150 on a single receipt, you are entitled to a free membership, with 6 complimentary makeup lessons. Who wouldn't want to give in??? Agreeeeee?

And sooo... I ended up chatting with the consultant and she hypnotized (haha!) me to pay for these:

Corrector and Concealer Kit:

Basically, corrector is used to adjust the dark areas that you want to conceal into a darker tone, hence, adapting it, making the application of the concealer easier, and well blended with the skin.  The corrector is a bit pricey, so I am thinking if I can use another good quality concealer in darker shade and use it as a corrector?  Hmmm.

Concealer kit comes with cream and powder to set it. Oh and plus the mirror that makes it more handy!

Next is BB Cream:

I was not a fan of BB Creams.  Well, I have been using foundation everyday, it makes my skin look flawless.  So I don't want any interruption in my make up routine.  Moisturizer was my only best friend and I was not open to a second best friend.  But then, having to discover new products is such a great feeling.  This BB Cream from Bobbi Brown, is a good buy.  I will talk more about this on my next post, and share some look that I came up with using this.  (Ohh, I now use this everyday!)

And this, my makeup lessons voucher:

The best thing about the "robbery" was this quote from Bobbi Brown:

More posts soon! =)
