Despite the fact that I only want to splurge on makeup, clothes, shoes, bags (oh the list goes on!), I still thought that there should be something more deserving of my attention - my health!
Seriously, I never thought that a proper exercise can make a big difference in my body/health. My big problem is - I hardly perspire. It was not a problem at all until everyone that I have spoken to told me that it is very unhealthy.
My greatest confession is, I eat rice every meal (not just a cup,but two), I love sweets of all sorts, I am too lazy to workout or run, and I hardly sweat. I thought I was just one lucky girl who looks fresh all day; but my main dilema is - I tend to get sick very easily. Change of weather will definitely cause me to have fever and flu. My resistance is very low that I tend to get sick almost every month. Plus my allergic rhinitis never leaves my side.
Jay has been encouraging me to run. He even bought me an all-Nike outfit just to motivate me. I run, and after few hundred meters, I stop and pretend that I need to tie my shoelace. And that's the end of it. I am just going to wait for him at the next bus stop.
One day, I was having a good talk with my friend Glenda, and both of us agreed that we were going to have a one-day trial at Fitness First. And so we did. And we signed up. We have been working out, attending classes, and keeping our diet healthy (like the real healthy way and not just the you-look-skinny-and-that's-it kind of way). But oh I can't resist chocolates! But at least my water intake and fruits have been satisfying my needs.
It's a bit pricey ($142 a month), but ey, the changes it had made are incredibly significant. No more sneezing in the morning and after every nap! I love how energy fills me each morning. And I love that my sleeping habit is a lot better! And I easily perspire now (it makes me feel a lot more normal, honestly).
As part of my active lifestyle, Jay and I promised each other that we are going to play badminton regularly. Aaaaanndd, we are going to play bowling tooooo. Aaaaannnddd I am going to run with him (Safra is holding a run on September and I am going to sign up for 10km- whoa!).
I am now a self-confessed sportsminded individual, everyone can make a change by starting to think that health is wealth. If people will ask me what my motivation is, err, it's as simple as this - I want to have a body like Anne Curtis and I want to wear my swimsuit without telling my self, "stomach in,chest out". Hahaha. But on a serious note, I really want to have a healthy lifestyle.
Well, even hot celebrities take a hard work keeping their body in shape. I too, is taking a stand in improving my health and keeping my body in shape. =)
Health is wealth and.....
